Spring is in the Air!

Ahhhh... I can start to smell it! Seriously, I love the smell of warmer weather in Iowa. It's invigorating and makes me feel good to know that sun and warmer weather is not far within our reach.

So, let's throw a little color into our life and talk western fashion!

This picture immediately comes to mind. When my sis Tammy and I went to Fort Worth, these were some felt hats for purchase at a western store. You definitely won't find these in Iowa. I love em'!

Have you guys caught Relentless: Being Trevor Brazile on GAC? I'm such a huge fan of Trevor Brazile and it would fun to live in his shoes for a week. That's actually what this show is all about. It follows him from rodeo to rodeo.

They showed a short clip last week talked about his wife Shada and her partnership with Wrangler to develop the baby line called Wrangler All Around. It's cute stuff and the reason behind it couldn't be more true... there is not much for choices when it comes to cute, modern and real-looking cowboy attire for baby's and toddlers. I hope to see more come out of this line.

Above: Model, Joe, is sporting his Cinch attire from a few weeks ago. I love little button ups on little boys!

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to be talking about some of the trends you can be watching for in the arena this summer. I've also been partnering with my hubby Jake with his blog, Bones n' Broadheads, for a special edition called Katie's Kitchen. So, stay tuned!

Deer Antler Spray

Have you heard of this... Deer Antler Spray? Jake told me about it a few months ago and I'm now noticing advertisements on it. When I first heard of it, my mind went to deer spray that comes from the other end of a deer... kind of like this Duck Dynasty episode.
Anyway, the spray originates from velvet of deer antlers. The Chinese have been using it for years for different reasons than why it is being advertised now. In the past, it was used for a variety of aliments such as aches and pains of muscles and joints. Now, it's mainly used for for getting ripped and increasing the growth hormone. However, they say it has many other benefits including improving sleep, regulating women's hormones, increasing athletic performance, anti aging, etc. It seems to be a cure all!

Rumors were flying around Super Bowl time of different athletes that have used it, including Ray Lewis and how it's so hard to detect in athletes since it can only be caught with a blood test.

As you see on the above bottle description from Complete Nutrition (notice how they call it "Night Spray"...weird). Anyway, I can't tell what any of the ingredients mean, especially Horny Goat Weed? Man, I'm learning so much. However, they all do seem to be "natural".

What are your thoughts on this? Would you try it knowing that it is all natural or the fact that it has such a variety of benefits scare you? It's interesting. My thoughts is that it can't be all bad if you can pick it up at your local GNC. If it said anything about weight loss, I'd be all about it! For now, I'm kind of scared that I might grow a mustache.

Wowzer, it's been waaaayyy to long on here!

Lots of things have been going on. Since we last talked, I've been in Charlotte, NC, Washington DC and had an extra special trip with my older sis to Fort Worth for work. We decided that we are taking a yearly sister trip. Where should we go next?

Joe has been growing like crazy. He no longer feels like a baby, which makes me extremely sad. I'm also convinced that he's going to be cutely bald forever, which I'm 100% okay with.

I'm royally loosing at my work's Bachelor pool... Why again am I so addicted to that show? I highly disslike either of the two remaining girls. How many ways can I say BORING!

I've also got a new, revitalized love.. .Duck Dynasty! If you've never seen the show, you're missing out. (Between the Bachelor and DD, you probably think all I do is watch TV:) Anyway, it's stinkin' hilarious and those guys are "my kind of people". I think that's why I like them so much! Jake found this t-shirt that has my friend Mandy written all over it. Yes, I believe he's 15 years old... but love is blind:) HA!
