Year in Review

Wow, what a year it’s been. There have been so many ups and downs this year and every one of my experiences has changed me as a person. This year reminds me that we’ve all been blessed in life and God is good.

Here are a few of my highlights:

MARCH
One of my best friends, Mandy, got married. I got down on the dance floor all night with the best of them, even though I was uber preggers. I had a blast!

JUNE
Little Joe was born
The happiest day in my life and an unexpected journey to follow that really made us treasure every day with him even more.

I also successfully ran my first Iowa High School Rodeo Queen Pageant. It went off without a hitch and my water never broke. Yeh!

JULY
Passed my CMP (Certified Meeting Planner)
This was an achievement in my book and thank goodness I passed because I never want to go through that test again!

SEPTEMBER
Brother-in-law got married
Finally! I’ve known Kristin about as long as I’ve known Jake. They’re perfect for each other. In addion, I had a good time at the party... in fact… too good. This was one of the first drinking capaids for this momma and to make a long story short, I had to take a siesta in the truck during the reception.

NOVEMBER
5 Year Anniversary & 50 Year Anniversary
Jake and I got married five years ago on my parent’s anniversary (no, we’re not a suck up, it was actually accidental!) Anyway, it all worked out and this year we both celebrated monumental years with a big party and family celebration. The highlights of this night included an open bar in which my brother-in-law Mike took full advantage of, my other brother-in-law Brad getting stuck in a folding chair and the decorating committee nearly burning down the church hall with 100 strands of Christmas lights in two outlets.

DECEMBER
Vegas
We love going to Vegas in December for the National Finals Rodeo every year. This year was extra exciting because Jake won an autographed Luke Bryan Fender guitar! We ended up selling it at the famous Pawn Stars, which was extra cool. The bottom picture is a pair of boots I bought out there. I really have a problem and obsession with boots. I'm not even going to dare tell you what number this adds to my collection....

So many other great events happened this year that didn’t make the calendar above including an engagement in the family that will allow me to have another sister-in law, Jake getting his Masters Degree, a couple of trips to Washington, DC, a trip to Denver, Chicago, Omaha Zoo and most of all, another year with family and friends that I love.

Have a Happy and Blessed New Year!
