How many of you watched the Olympics on TV? Since it was on all of the time and late at night, I watched my fair share. My favorite part was how well represented Des Moines, Iowa was. Between Lolo Jones and Gabby Douglas, Iowa shined!

Although I think swimming is a bit borning unless it's a tight race... how about the US swimming team?! Where in the heck have they been all of my life? Minus Michael Phelps, the majority of them are pretty yummy. Heyyyy

Speaking of cute, if you haven't seen this video yet, check it out. It seems like everyone is doing spoofs and dancing to the Carly Rae Jepsen song, "Call Me Maybe". Here's a farm version that you'll enjoy.

Mini Me

I must first apologize for not writing in a long time. I'm now back!

On June 28th, Jake and I were blessed with an adorable little boy named Joe. He's our angel and was sent from heaven from my brother Joe.

Since he's been out of the NICU for a few weeks, it's been interesting to hear what people say to us about him. Since I see little Joe every day, it's hard to notice his changes and looks. All I know is that he's the cutest little boy ever!!

Since the day he was born, most people come to the agreement that Joe looks like his dad (at least for now:) and I couldn't be more proud because it's a compliment to my natural selection abilities- hot dad... cute kid. When we had our first ultrasound Jake and I were in chairs waiting. Both of us were very nervous, so to lighten the mood I said to Jake, "Do you think these ultrasounds can tell if a baby is black?" Jake at the time didn't mind my humor funny, but there's no doubt about it, little Joe is all his:).

However with just being with Joe for a short couple of weeks, I've noticed some distinguishable characteristics that show a little of his dad and a little bit of me...

1. Joe no doubt has his mom's fashion sense and looks dang good in a pair of sunglasses.
2. Joe does sleep like his dad- with his mouth wide open and a pond of drool to go along with it.:)
3. This kid already has a closet full of clothes (like his mom). Both Joe and I will both soon be taking over Jake's closet.
4. Like the both of us, little Joe likes to party, yet can be professional as well.

Although I don't tend on my blog becoming a "mommy blog", you can count on some Joe updates in the future. Make it a great day!
