Talk About Weird...

That pretty much sums up my blog today.

The crisp, fall air remind me of so many things... sweatshirts, football, my birthday, our anniversary and Halloween. Jake and I always carve pumpkins around October to celebrate Halloween, but here's a new one for you, how about carving a pumpkin from a pear tree? (It almost sounds like it came out of a Christmas song.)

Seriously though, a story came out that a couple in Greenfield, Iowa are the talk of the town because a random pumpkin started growing in their pear tree at home. The story from KCCI said that there was a pumpkin that was found growing in a tree in Des Moines last year. What the heck?! Have you ever had anything weird start growing in places it shouldn't of?

I also finally have a few pictures from my dad's birthday the other weekend ago. Birthday's aren't weird, but the Soukup birthday's might seem weird to some. It doesn't get much more redneck than shooting guns, grilling hot dogs and karaoke (or ker-o-kee, as my mom would say)- oh ya, that's how the Soukup's have a birthday party!
My dad was showing my mom how to shoot his handgun.. talk about scary!

We also had the Taylor Swift threesome putting on a concert during the party. My niece and two friends were singing their hearts out. They cracked me up!

However, one of my favorite parts of the day was dear Rhonda. She brought out the fake butt and used it to distract the men. Really, not a great idea while they're shooting guns, but everything turned out okay. Her boobs looked pretty nice too. I actually find it funny that Brad is bending over at the opportune time when I was taking this picture. And to keep with the "weird" theme... there's actually nothing weird at all about these two pictures. It's just Rhonda. Ha! :)

New Purses- Wilder than Ever

Just arrived... new Krazy Cowgirl merchandise! There are more purses added and a few new necklaces on the website. As my title states, a few of them are from the wild side! When I first started the business a couple of years ago, I first sold more subtle colors in handbags like blacks and browns; however, those weren't the hot sellers. When clients wanted a new, funky purse, they wanted fun colors. So, I'm really pulling that in this round of handbags. I'd love to hear feedback!

Also, stay tuned to the blog in the next few weeks... because there may be something special in it for you (other than the already awesome reading material)!

Yeah For Farm Boys!

I got an email through an ag-marketing company the other day talking about this viral video on the internet that has been a huge hit. It's a satire, but it is also showing that the new generation of agriculture can have fun. I love dumb humor, so I found this farmer from California hilarious!
And speaking of good ol' farm boys.. how about them Cyclones?!!! From those of you not from Iowa, the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game every year is literally, a national holiday. Each state has the same rivalries, so I'm sure you can relate. Jake and I got lucky enough to fall into some tickets and I'm so happy we did. It was the best game of football that I've ever watched. It was exciting, went into 3 overtimes, it was sunny (so I got a slammin' tan) and ISU won!!

Jake and I even rushed the field.. everyone was doing it..:) We made our way to the cement barrier, where Jake jumped probably 7 feet to the field. There I was with a denim skirt jumping into Jake's arms... Romeo, I know. However, I never thought about getting back up the cement barrier. Once we yelled, took a quick picture on the field and watched the players walk back to the locker rooms, Jake attempted to convince me to jump and he'll pull me up.... again, in a skirt. I'm sure I was causing a scene saying that there was no way I was showing my sweet buns to 56,000 people. Then, some very nice older gentleman, said, "It's okay hun, nobody will look" and he pushed me up. Lordy.
My other exciting moment is when I noticed cameras over by someones tailgate. I told Jake that I thought someone famous was over there, so I told him, "let's go"! I wiggled my way into the middle of crowd and found Michelle Bachman standing right there. Although I don't have a picture, I shook her hand, said hello and kept on my way (my mom has to be proud:)). Jake thinks I can smell celebrities from a mile away (there was also an incident over spring break when I saw Cameron Diaz and nobody else did). It's funny really, I wish I could smell out more "real" celebrities, like Cameron and not so much Michelle... maybe George Strait, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock or David Beckham, you get the picture.

I just had to pass this along... yikes!

A giant crocodile was captured alive in the . It weighed 2,370 pounds and was over 21 feet long. It looks like a dinosaur. I'd like to see the guys from Swamp People attempt this one!

I'm Not Here For a Long Time, I'm Here For A Good Time

One of my boss' dad passed away the other day and our office attended the funeral. It was incredibly sad, even for someone like myself who never met the man. I was tearing up and smiling at the same time as they pushed the casket out of the church because they played the Iowa fight song on the piano. At that point I thought, "Wow, how cool." It also made me think that maybe some are going about funerals all wrong and maybe we should all have our own, "Iowa fight song".

My dad has always joked that when he goes, he wants to be strapped to a horse and have someone let the horse go down the streets of Prairieburg, Iowa (I know, he's crazy, ha!). But honestly, as morbid as it sounds, I decided that I want my passing to be a celebration! I want to have a party, have cranberry and vodka drinks for everyone and this new song of George Strait's playing in the background.

Although, I don't plan on anything happening for at least 126 years (I'm hoping in the next few years they'll come out with a pill that will make us live another 100 years), but friends take note! I want to live my life now like I'm in a party and I want to go out with the partying continuing behind me.
